First founded in 1877 by Doña Antonia Ferriera, Quinta do Vale Meao is now operated by Winemaker Francisco Olazabal, her 4x great grandson. A marriage of tradition and technology, their wintery boasts temperature controlled stainless steel fermentation, yet all of the fruit is still trodden by foot, for 4 hours in ancient stone troughs called lagares and aged exclusively in Allier French oak barriques.
