Vidal-Fleury Facts

Vidal-Fleury

Founded in 1781, Vidal-Fleury is the oldest continuously operating winery in the Rhône Valley. Thomas Jefferson visited the estate in 1787.

Today, Vidal-Fleury is renowned in the United States for its authentic yet forward-thinking style. The wines, coming from both the Northern and Southern regions of the Rhône Valley, are acclaimed by critics and consumers alike.

Combining 230 years of tradition with a state-of-the-art winemaking facility designed to optimize oak aging, bottling, and bottle maturation, Vidal-Fleury crafts authentic, clean, and approachable Rhône wines, striving for distinctiveness and the highest quality. Among them are Côtes du Rhône red and white, Crozes-Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Côte-Rôtie.

Vidal-Fleury’s winery is in the prestigious Northern Rhone appellation of Côte-Rôtie and sits at the foot of Côte Blonde, one of the winery’s finest vineyards and the one largely responsible for its reputation today.
